Did anyone see the head-on accident at Springfield Plaza yesterday?

On Friday, March 13, 2015, on Old Keene Mill Rd just outside of Springfield Plaza, an elderly lady drove down the wrong side of the road, head-on into cars that were stopped at the light. She plowed through about 10 cars before finally coming to a stop. People were injured and many cars were badly damaged, but the old lady herself was completely unharmed. I was among the cars stopped at the light and narrowly missed getting hit myself. I saw her car go flying by my driver's side window. But I did not see the very beginning of the crash or the moments leading up to it. I'm a bit traumatized by the whole thing and I want to know how this happened. So I'm wondering, did anybody see firsthand what happened? Where did the lady come from? How did she plow through that many cars? How did she fit between the rows of cars for so long before finally coming to a stop? Was she actually airborne, or did I just imagine that? Does anybody know the old lady? What's wrong with her? Is she on medication that made her "out of it"? I'm just trying to process this whole thing. How in the world did such a thing happen?

Yes, I thought so too Shannon. I was hoping there might at least be a police report or something. I'm not looking to blame anybody. I'm just trying to wrap my head around how such a crazy thing could have happened.

I was thinking maybe she was on medications that made her kind of "out of it." She wasn't showing any visible signs of injury, illness, or disability. When I was walking toward the car to see who had caused the accident, I was expecting to see some clue, such as signs of intoxication or signs of having passed out/had a stroke/had a diabetic emergency/etc. But I (and everyone else I think) was absolutely shocked to see her standing there, looking completely intact. She was not crying, not shaking, not receiving any sort of medical treatment. There was no blood, no torn clothing, nothing. Not one single clue as to what could have caused her to do such a horrendous thing. It actually made me feel kind of angry that she didn't seem concerned or remorseful. Of course I can't possibly know what she was thinking/feeling on the inside, but her behavior just struck me as somewhat disrespectful. She did quite a lot of damage, especially to the poor lady who had to be cut out of her car. The whole thing is just so unbelievable, like a weird dream.

I was driving the first car she hit. It started at Old Keene and Commerce. We were making a left from Old Keene Mill to Commerce (heading east towards 95), when a car rear ended another car which then rear ended her. I was yielding to a car making a u-turn in front of me when she slammed into my vehicle from behind (she was also waiting in the line to make the left onto Commerce). Her car rammed me a second time and continued to push my car into the intersection, where I was able to turn on to Commerce, after the first car cleared. Since she continued to push my car forward and eventually sped by me accelerating the whole time, I assumed her accelerator pedal was stuck. From the very short glimpse I got of her, she looked really scared.
