What is up with Southern state names

Why do Southern states all have girl's names?
Carolina?
Louisiana?
Maryland?
Virginia?
Georgia?
Misses Sipi?
Florida?

Pretty well impossible for the men to be manly when they have to live in girly-girl states. Guess this is why the band teachers are diddling the little boys. Einuis was just the tip of a huge iceberg.....

i'm moving to Montana. Now there is a rugged, macho sounding state name.
