Don't you miss the old Dalphene's. It always had a great show and it was FREE. Too bad the replacement has a cover charge.

I lost many a dollar bill in Dalphenes.

Used to go there in the 80s. I got off work at 11pm. It was a good place to drink a few beers with buddies from work. Last call was 1:45 am. I think the managers name was Dino.

I knew a dancer who worked there in the early 80's. Her name was Cindi. She was cute with a slim build and blonde hair. She lived with some guy in the Lincolnia area named Jack, a mechanic and fringe biker type. She also had connections to the Pagans MC. She was nursing a coke addiction.

The last time I saw her was probably 1983. She was trying to get clean. I had stopped by her place. I forget exactly why. It so happened she had just baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies. She offered me one and for whatever reason I declined. At that moment I could tell by the look on her face that she had really wanted me to have one and my refusal had hurt. I felt like a real jerk.

A few months later I heard that she had died of an overdose.

To this day I feel bad about that moment.
