What happened to Springfield?

Back when I was in HS, Springfield was a decent place. Now it's almost like a ghost town. The restaurants keep getting flipped and the mall is losing stores left and right.

Springfield Mall is undergoing renovation. It's going to get a major add-on, like an office high rise or more condos. It's going to look a little more like Pentagon city or Reston Town Center.

Springfield Mall has always been a ghetto mall in comparison with other malls (the old Landmark, Tysons, Fair Oaks). It's just a lot worse now. Mall management allowed the arcades to remain there and continued to let people loiter in and around who weren't bringing in business and what you see now is the result...Plus, the stores they allow in there aren't particularly eye-appealing.

You know how I know the metro brought all the thugs here? THERE ARE NO BLACK NEIGHBORHOODS IN THE SPRINGFIELD AREA!!! (except for greene hills in saratoga) So where are they coming from? DC......
