I used to have Kaiser and chose a doctor like this:

Look at the list of doctors accepting new patients
Look their names up on the internet and find reviews
Verify their speciality, history, and other details
Use your gut

I did that and found a great doctor at Kaiser. Hope that helps.

I dunno, one of those Kaiser doctors was giving me a digital anal exam, but had both hands on my back.

Now he calls me every weekend for another follow up exam!

Stay away from Dr. Christopher Ryan in the Burke Kaiser!!!! He is NEVER on time and does nothing but waste your time!!

Dr. Sileh (sorry, don't remember the spelling) is wonderful, and checks in w/patients that are at certain risks.

I thought Dr. Ryan at Burke was a great doctor.

He wasn't always on time, but he was an attentive and competent healthcare provider.

Because when I go to a doc i want to hear nothing but..."you have this. take this, you'll feel better." I don't need a 20 minute medical breakdown; he likes to hear himself talk. He had me there til 7pm---kept me in exam room 45 minutes then yelled at me for keeping him in the office so late! That, of course, was after waiting over an hour to be escorted to the exam room.

My sentiments exactly. Dr. Saleh is apparently no longer practicing with Kaiser, or at that location. Dr. Ryan doesn't give a shit about anybody's time but his own and is a pretentious ass.

That being said, Kaiser generally sucks. Find a better HMO.

I've had Dr. Ryan for several years and wouldn't trade him for anyone. He was a bit delayed ONE time, but everyone has overly busy days now and then. By and large he has been very good for me. I trust his advice and respect him very much.

You must have a different experience than I. I love Kaiser; I hope I still get to keep it after ObamaCare kills us all.

I appreciate Dr. Ryan taking time to give me some medical education about whatever I'm there for. He has disabused me of a number of incorrect practices, and I come away with more knowledge than I arrived with. If recent studies of something are relevant, he tells me about it; if I think a cerain approach to a condition is wise and he knows better (and who went to med school?), I listen to him.

He tells me when the medical community has changed its view of this or that; sometimes old ways get replaced by better ones, and he tells me the current thinking. I find that valuable; I guess you'd rather just get the pill and forget it. I think knowledge is important, I am thankful he thinks enough of me to share what he knows. I cannot IMAGINE him "yelling" at a patient for anything, least of all for keeping him too late. That sounds like a tall tale. Ryan is a treasure as far as I'm concerned.
