Coyote sighting

Pair sighted early am near the Potomac School and Long Meadow Road

I was the park manager at Riverbend Park in Great Falls from 1984 until 2002. During those years I, as a trained Naturalist identified Black bear, Bobcat, Cougar, Coyote, and Coy/dog cross breeds. Coyotes are able to live in Fairfax County quite well, because we humans provide them with everything they need. Including the occasional housecat as desert

These are eastern coyotes, not their western kin. DNA analysis shows that they have bred with wolves. they are called coy-dogs. They are larger, more agressive and work in packs. They have been in fairfax county for a long time.

You probably won't be back to answer...but are you saying you saw a cougar( 4-legged, clearly the 2-legged abound there) at Riverbend?
