McLean Post Office

What is wrong with the McLean Post Office? I didn't get my mail until 9 p.m.!!!

There is definitely some mismanagement going on at the McLean Post Office.
I subscribe to 2 weekly magazines, and about every 6 or 7 weeks, one of them never arrives. This past week, Time was supposed to come in plastic with a supplement, I only got the magazine, out of the plastic and no supplement. I only found out because my parents also get Time and saw it in their stack of mail when I went to have dinner at their house.
I also always get my neighbor's mail. Mostly my next-door neighbor's, but sometimes I'll get mail from three streets over or even from somewhere else completely.

I normally get my mail around 1PM, but over the past 2 weeks it has sometimes been arriving after I get home from work (4-5). Something's screwy.

I've gotten used to the inconsistent delivery times. Now that I work from home 3 or 4 days a week, I notice it. I didn't care about that when I went downtown to work in my office 5 days a week.
The real problem is that things that used to be delivered on certain days has become unreliable.
I used to get Newsweek on Monday. I used to get Time Magazine on Saturdays. I used to get the Sun Gazette on Thursdays.
My parents live in Vienna, and they still get those same articles of mail on those same days.
I moved from Bethesda to Mclean in 2002, and had the same delivery schedules, I could expect those magazines on the same days of the week, and now it isn't very consistent. I sometimes get Newsweek on Tuesday, and on a few occassions, on Wednesday. I get Time sometimes on saturday, but often on Monday, and sometimes on Tuesday. I didn't get the gazette when I lived in Bethesda, but I now get it on various days, sometimes Thursday, sometimes Friday, and sometimes even on Saturday. My parents get the gazette every thursday. For a while, I got the gazette on thursdays, but now I don't know if it will come on Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
I just found out that the latest Time Magazine was in a plastic bag with a supplement, because that is what my parents recieved at their home in Vienna, but all I got was the Time magazine, with no plastic bag or supplement.

My copy of Newsweek still consistently arrives on Mondays. It doesn't really bug me if the mail shows up late, it's just funny that others have brought it up here. I thought maybe it was just my carrier taking a different route, but obviously there's something going on that affects the whole neighborhood.
