don't know if anyones heard this yet. but westlawn shopping center is about to get redeveloped. bill page honda has always owned the strip since it was built in the 60's. their redevelopment plan was recently approved by ffx. the dealership will move to the corner where the old grocery store is now, but will have a smaller footprint due to a 4 story garage for new cars to be built behind the new mall. the old luskins and ski store building will be torn down and replaced by a pharmacy (rite aid i guess since CVS is across the street?) and the mall will be completely rebuilt closer to annandale rd with a more urban look.

bill page is trying to convince the post office to stay and take a store in the new mall. the space where bill page is now will be a drivethru bank.

anyway, thought this might be interesting to people in the FC area. we've been waiting for a decade for this strip to get redeveloped. i'm gonna miss the Westlawn Supermarket store though. I know it was originally a chain called Grand Union, but when i was growing up it was owned by the manager. Don't see many independent, family owned grocery stores anymore. RIP old Westlawn.

We need McDonalds to also have Drive Thru

Why can't McDonalds redevelop with a Drive Thru

I wonder if there is any update on this? It seems like this has been talked about for a couple of years now, but we do not see any progress. Anyone have any updated news on this? Would love to see the shopping center rebuilt and hopefully the post office will stick around.

The shopping center is GONE. Time to start new.

The Mason District Land Use Committee will consider at its April 26 meeting a request from Bill Page Honda for a rezoning and special exception allowing an expansion of the car dealership and redevelopment of the shopping center it owns on the corner of Annandale Road and Arlington Boulevard.

Anyone knows what's going on now at the Westlawn Shopping Center Redevelopment ?

WHo is doing the renovations at this Westlawn Shopping Center. Does anyone know ?

Bill Page the dealership that basically owns all the land at that intersection is in charge...they are rebuilding their dealership as well. The BBT looks like its gonna open any day now, Anthony's restaurant has signed a lease and Walgreens will begin construction early next year. I think walgreens is holding off construction till the renovations to the dealership are done because currently bill page has all their cars parked in the area where the walgreens is going to be built.

This is why we moved out of Falls Church, used to have a house on Wayne Road near Loehmanns Plaza. Got tired of waking up and finding our cars egged or all the tires slashed, whole neighborhood turned into South America. Tired of seeing red and blue bandana gang bangers driving around the neighborhood thinking they owned it, fucking punks! We moved further out 66, away from the dregs of Falls Church.
