Our coaching staff at WTW is clueless. We might go 0-10 this season. We need a new head coach and a new defensive coordinator especially! The other guys on the team are getting pissed. We might have 10 guys in the team by the end of the season and nobody will come out next year if these coaches stay in place. Our best QB is playing in the secondary! Why?? Somebody help this coaching staff!

Wow!!!!! Is highschool football really going to define a young boys life sooooo much that that will be his only legacy towards life???? Hilarious to see how someone can be sooooo wrapped up in highschool sports.

I knew guys in highschool who were all into the football experience. Making it their only passion and where are they now........

1. One works as a screener for TSA.
2. One is a mid-manager at a retail store.
3. Others, haven't heard a word of them since highschool.

Yep, America.............where we place more emphasis on our athletes rather than our scholars. This is why America is where it is today.

I'm a parent of a former Woodson player, and realistically Chantilly was stronger and faster at every position. Not sure how much of that falls on the coach. Woodson's play calling was much better this year than last, actually passed the ball about 50% of the time. Woodson just doesn't have the talent or the athletes, there no where near a Concorde team.

So they know how to get things done and how to work successfully as a team member and leader, however they don't waste their time in worthless organizations which will not help advance them or their careers. Got it.

Playcalling is better than last year?! Sure, but is that saying a lot? Last year Coach D ran the Knute Rockne offense. This year Coach D is running the Allie Sherman offense. I don't know how much if an improvement that really is. On top of play calling this staff has problems with putting the right players in the right positions. Like someone already mentioned - the better qb is playing DB. And there is no creativity in the play calling. Wtw is undermanned and under skilled so they need to throw in some razor dazzle to shake things up. This entire staff has let our kids down for the 2nd yr in a row. Our sons work their butts off not to get embarrassed every Friday night. This is a disgrace. Checko needs to step in and cut The head coach and defensive coordinators out of the program. Their cluelessness is destroying what is left of football at Woodson. My son and his friends are going to be seniors next yr and they will not play if this crap continues next season.

Just look on the bright side: we only have one more year of the Mackay era, and a few of the rising juniors seem to be showing some promise. I think all they need is a little play time to get comfortable on the field, and maybe next year we could have a possible .500 team. Also, who knows what will happen in the quarterback position? Mackay is injury prone and un reliable, so there is a possibility that he may miss a significant chunk of the games (like he did last year), which would give Jimmy McLaughlin (the qb playing DB, and as was mentioned before) an opportunity to start. It should be interesting to see what happens if the rest of our games go as the Chantilly game did.

Somebody is riding the bench

A new turf field would pump enthusiam into the Woodson programs and school. Why doesn't Woodson have turf? Robinson does, as does Fairfax, West Springfield, Langley, Madison, Marshall, and so many more. Ferrell gets the Robinson dsa job and has the vision to get it done with TWO turf fields. With Mr. Psychosky too busy bullying kids and bitching about working for Yost, no wonder wtw is having a dismal fall. Hang in there Woodson football.

A turf field is not going to make the team better. Ask any team that has one. Plus youth leagues usually contibute a great amount to the turf fields, CYA and SYA payed a huge chunk of Westfield and Chantilly's fields.

Woodson is due to have a good class or two come into the school soon. In the meantime they have a great basketball team this year.
