Lorton, VA – Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA) has received an “F” rating from the National Taxpayers Union, a non-profit, non-partisan citizen group devoted to lowering taxes and reducing the size of government.
Connolly’s score of 13 percent classifies him as a “Big Spender” in Washington.
In conducting these ratings the National Taxpayers Union analyzed the voting record of all House and Senate members during the first session of the 112th Congress, focusing specifically on votes that significantly affected taxes, spending, debt, and regulatory burdens on consumers and taxpayers. Each of the votes is weighted to reflect the importance of each vote’s effect. Depending on their record legislators can receive a rating from A (“Taxpayers’ Friend”) to F. Appears to be a fairly objective analysis. But what does it matter? Connolly's redrawn district is D+5 or D+7 depending on who you believe. Connolly clearly has set his sights on something more important than 11th district congressman.

The Connolly vs. Perkins race is not likely to gain much attention. The insiders know that the house will remain in Republican control, so neither party is willing to spend much money on this one. This is an important race, because for one Chris Perkins is the best possible candidate this district has had in years. His experience in the military, business, and also being fair minded, and of stable temperment make him ideal, for dealing with the nonsense in Washington. I have no doubt in his leadership ability, to take care of the 11th district, and think even if Connolly wasn't running, he'd still be my pick.
With that said, its time for Gerry to go. He's had enough years fucking up Congress and Fairfax over, whether as the County Chairman or in his present seat. All he does is tax and spend, and just do whatever is politically expedient for him, as he seems to forget his folks in the district. Recently his "gerry mandering" of the franking law, that prohibits electoral materials in the time frame of an election, has become apparent with the mailouts last weeks, that were designed and mailed out at our expense. He will stop at nothing, because its all about him, not about the people of Fairfax and Prince William County, who he's supposed to be there for.
For those who are unfamiliar with him, look up "hit and run," how much of his spending has gone to other areas of the country, and his record is abysmal. He has done absolutely nothing worthwhile, and if re-elected will get a full congressional pension. What can connolly run on, his record? Give me a break. The weasel has been sucking at the government tit for years, now in congress and before that on the BOS. At both jobs his proudest accomplishment was spending more money then was being taken in.

A vote for Connolly is like giving a seat in Congress to the unions. A vote for Connolly means two more years of glossy and expensive flyers prepared at taxpayer expense and sent out to every constituent - plus former constituents as his district used to be drawn. A vote for Connolly means that he will be entitled to a pension. A vote for Connolly means seeing his shit eating smile all too often.
Even if the above was reason enough to vote him out of office, Perkins is a great candidate with an impressive record of achievement -- outside of politics.

A Virginia group has called on members of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to “fully disclose” donations they have received from groups and individuals with an interest in the October 19 hearing on the renewal of the lease of the radical Islamic Saudi Academy on Route 1.
James Lafferty of the Virginia Anti-Shariah Task Force (VAST) said in a letter to each Supervisor that he was concerned because former Board Chairman Gerry Connolly received numerous contributions to his Congressional campaign as he was shepherding the last ISA lease renewal through the board and attacking opponents.
An Associated Press report on June 17, 2008 stated: “The board’s chairman Gerry Connolly, the Democratic nominee for Congress in Virginia’s 11th District offered a strong defense of the school and accused critics of slander during the meeting in which the lease was approved.”
“Connolly should have recused himself from the process but instead he carried the water for the Islamist radicals and cashed a lot of their checks,” said Lafferty. “Many of the contributions were to his Congressional campaign but , at least, one of them was not reported to the Federal Elections Commission.
“We are asking each Board member to check his/her records and if they have accepted contributions from any entity connected to the ISA and that includes CAIR, the Islamic Society of North America and any other Islamist groups and any individuals or officials of any of the local mosques, we are asking them to comply with the law and recuse themselves.
While promoting the last ISA lease renewal in 2008, Connolly received the following support from those with a strong interest in the radical school operated by the Saudi government:
Nihad Awad donated $500 on January 24, 2008. Awad is a founder of CAIR and stated in a 1994 speech in Florida “After I researched the situation inside and outside Palestine, I am in support of the Hamas movement.”
Yaqub Mirza gave $1,000 on January 12, 2008. Mirza is a prominent leader in the Safa group, a radical Islamist operation in Northern Virginia. Congressman Andre Carson (D-Indiana), a Muslim, returned a Mirza donation to his campaign.
Hisham al-Talib gave $1,000 on January 24, 2008. Al Talib is another Safa leader.
Arab-American Leadership PAC, a group funded partially by the radical Muslim Brotherhood, donated $2,000 during the 2008 cycle.
Connolly also received $18,758 from Qorvis Communications in 2006 through 2008, according to published reports. Qorvis represents the Saudi government. Its Washington and Virginia offices were raided by the FBI after the 9/11 attacks. The embassy of the Saudi government is listed as the owner/operator of the ISA.
“Connolly was busy cashing checks and shilling for the Saudis but we didn’t find out about it until after the vote was taken and after he had called the citizen opposition ‘slanderers’ and ‘bigots’.
