Rude Bus Riders
Posted by: BusRider ()

I ride a Metro Bus to/from the Pentagon everyday. The display of selfishness and boorish behavior is incredible. For example, there are 4 riders on my bus who always spread their crap out over both seats in a row. More people get on and need seats and they don't move their bag, paper, etc. People have to STAND because these a$$holes want to take up 2 seats. One women sits with her shoes on the seat so that if anyone does end up sitting next to her (provided she actually moves over) they are siting in the dirt from the bottom of her shoes.

If you ride the bus, move your a$$ and your crap so other paying riders can sit down.

Lots of people from Fairfax County ride the buses to the Pentagon...

People are so inconsiderate! I would say something, I am surprised the driver doesn't get involved if this happens a lot.

Fairfax County is the world capitol of rude behavior no matter if it's on a bus, in a laundry, a supermarket, at the gym, driving or strolling at the mall.
The combination of ignorance (hillbillies, negroes, latins, asians and other third world refugees) and entitlement (soccer moms, yuppies, preppies and the children of all the aforementioned) makes rude behavior the rule rather than the exception.

Someone should throw a bunch of snakes in through the windows of the bus, that will teach those rude bastards a lesson!

They don't own the seats, you know. Stop being passive aggressive and just sit down. On the rare occasion I ride metro, I see people on rolling their eyes at seat hogs, but they make no attempt to sit. The reason they keep doing it is because no one challenges them.

Just go up to them and motion that you need to sit.

I'm not the one who needs the seat. It's usually male military members who end up standing, and I'm guessing they feel uncomfortable asking a women to move her giant bag to give them room to sit. And I'm not going to intervene and get a seat for someone else.

People should not have to be told to exercise basic consideration.

Have you tried politely to bring this up? Without that, bitching about it here is going to accomplish nothing. If they are dicks back, return in kind-instantly picture them as Jerry Sandusky and knock em out.

I used to ride the bus. This gal who was in her 20s with a hot body used to wear a miniskirt and tight top every day it was warm. I enjoyed riding the bus.

Those of you saying to just "say something" may not ride the bus often enough to realize asking someone to move themselves or their stuff off of the 2nd seat is not always enough. Some people tell you to F off. Been there, had it happen. And others don't care what you say, they still refuse to move over. Try telling the driver about it and you'll most likely hear "There's nothing I can do about it" or "there's plenty of seats". Neither of which are true when riding a bus full of seat hogs. Last time I checked it was still a free country and until there's a law saying I can't bitch about this I will do so. Meanwhile the rest of you quit whining about someone expressing their opinion.

Grown some balls and say, "Excuse me, I'd like to sit here. Would you please move your stuff?"

EIther they will look at you and move their shit or they will be an asshole. In that case, you may proceed to, "Move your fucking shit right now or I'll move it for you on to the fucking floor. DO IT NOW!"

Now they will either move their shit or move the fuck away from your psycho ass.

Ideally. But the world is not an ideal place.

And they DO need to be told, and should be told.

The poster above is right about Fairfax being full of ignorant and/or entitled d-bags. And the thing is those sorts of people also tend to be cowards. Stand up to them and they will usually back down.

Eat beans and cheese the night before. Let them keep their stuff on the seat. Continue to stand and aim your ass right at their head and let fire.

I once saw a similar interaction on a SEPTA bus in Philadelphia. The guy sitting refused to clear the seat next to him for another guy. Standing guy proceeded to stick a finger down his throat and puked all over the stuff on the seat.

This is right up there with those jerks who get their gas at the gas station and then leave their car next to the pump for 10 minutes while they saunter inside the convenience store and get coffee and smokes and whatever, while there are people waiting for gas pumps. Probably the same people doing it.

"Probably the same people doing it?" If they had a car they wouldn't be riding the bus, would they?

Not necessarily. I used to drive locally and take the bus to get to work every day.

At that point you move their crap for them or push it on the floor where it belongs. They will get the message.

Now that's sending a message. As gross as it is, sounds like the jackazz who wouldn't move his stuff had it coming. Now whether or not he learned how not to be a douchebag because of it is probably a different story...

My favorite are the people who take up THREE seats by spreading their stuff out or people who sit on the outside seat even as the bus fills. Did you pay for extra seats - that is what I want to scream!

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode with Kramer trying to cram his ass into a seat near a fat guy, after being beaten out to all of the other empty seats. Maybe you should just do that .... Just squeeze your ass onto the seat and when they give you a look, say that they spilled over into the aisle seat by accident and you did not want to call attention to their expansiveness.
