Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Far to much liability in this area for a skate park. The owner would get his ass sued after the first kids scraped his elbow. Parents around here are nuts.

Thanks sk8tr, we do know about Van Dyke but prefer Wakefield even though it's so far away. Probably the best area skate park is Powhatan Springs in Arlington - it's all really smooth concrete with a nice deep pool at one end.
I don't see the liability problem, Lurker. The outdoor skate parks don't have liability issues ... but it's probably a matter of time. I heard an ambulance was called three times one Saturday for separate incidents at Wakefield.
I swear there's more indoor stuff to do in California than here! Love it here, and love the weather, but that's my one beef with the area. Oh, and all the sidewalks that go nowhere and connect to nothing and all the county parks with no bathroom or water fountain. Other than that, it's cool here. :)
Indoor skate parks are not financially viable in this area. An indoor park is much more expensive to operate than an outdoor one. There simply aren't enough skateboarders who would be willing to pay to use a park on a regular basis to keep one in business or to subsidize a publicly owned one. There used to be that VANNs indoor park at Potomac Mills. It didn't last very long.
Locally owned indoor skatepark in woodbridge va! 14500 Jefferson davis hwy, woodbridge, va 22191
Super sick mini ramp and a vert wall! www.fearcliff.com check out the pics!
Theres also an outdoor park in the back of the building that connected to the indoor. one of favorite places to skate and only $5 for the whole day. Theres a shop too with all the skate goods I could need.
i made a petition for a skatepark around centreville or chantilly hopefully there will be one made soon and Where is this Flipzone Park? Is it still open?
No, it never opened. It was all just a dream. The Flip Zone LLC now bills itself as a skate-rink operating company but it is really just one Tania Acosta hiding out in her townhouse on Saguaro Place in Centreville.
