Braddock District Coalition

I attended tonight's (actually, last night's) Braddock District Coalition meeting at Annandale High School. If anyone has not heard of the Braddock District Coalition, there is info available online:

The Coalition is urging everyone that wants to fully fund (e.g., raise the tax rate ABOVE 3 cents -- along the lines of "whatever is needed") the FCPS schools, including the $100 million deficit -- to wear yellow shirts to the Board of Supervisors meeting on Monday (Mach 31) night.
Some of the Coalition members that were in the audience were just downright embarrassing with their disrespectful manner before five School Board members and Sharon Bulova. Some people really need to read Dale Carnegie!

FCPS has set it's priorities and general ed class size with solid traditional core academic instruction was not one of them. The 10 million gift plus the 2 million for South County is almost equivalent to the class size increase number. IB is more than twice the cost of AP, GT should be at every middle school not the rat maze of bussing, etc. Is the Braddock District stuffed with pork programs and funding as well as unnecessary capital projects?
There are foreclosures and near foreclosures everywhere in FX. Gas is over 3 dollars/gallon. Lake Braddock got a renovation and addition yet as per the South County PTA website Mrs. Albo is unwilling to get more students.
Tisdadt wrote about reducing scope of renovations so all might have humane standards. It's not the amount of money but what FCPS school boards have decided to spend it on:
