Hi everyone, I've heard there are multiple threads already on Edison HS but I'm new to this website and this area. My daughter just started attending Edison In Jan/Feb. and she doesn't tell me to much about it. But last week she decides to come out, she said while she was in the bathroom some girls were selling drugs to each other right in front of her, and then the next day she went to the clinic and some girl was going into labor AND some guy and his girlfriend were having "Oral relations" in the library classroom when no teacher was around. I was just curious as to if this was a typical thing for this school? Like I said, I'm new to this area and have heard both sides of the story.

It was just another day at Edison.

My kids go there, I volunteer there and there's no way that could have happened. The library since it's renovation faces Franconia Rd and there are no classrooms in it. There is a work study room that is glass enclosed. So even if a teacher was not around everyone could see what you are doing either from the street our the library. There is a full time librarian when she leaves the door is locked. Mainly so kids don't steal. There are 3 pregnant girls at the school. None of them have gone into labor yet. As for selling drugs in the bathroom might have happened. I do know 2 girls were caught smoking weed in the bathroom last week. Neither one had enough to be considered selling.

Damn I am old. When I went to HS the pregnant girls were removed and stayed home during the pregnancy. The biggest deal was leaving during those awful pep ralleys and going to Highs and getting beer and wine.

First off, I doubt you have ever been in the new library. There are no doors to the library since they said that was a fire code. We can go in and take any book we want after hours. The classroom or work study room as you call it does not have windows toward the street and the windows that are facing the library always has the blinds closed. There are also three other private workrooms in the back of the library that are sometimes unlocked and 'available'. The librarians normally stay in their own workroom, so yes anything can happen and usually does. And there are way more than 3 girls pregnant right now. As for the drugs, every high school has dealers in the bathroom. Deal with it.

Actually, if you've been in the library there is a classroom all the way in the back. It has glass windows but blinds, which r down 24/7. I know because i have a TL block and am in the library every Day 1. Three pregnant girls? That's a lie because I know 6. Just because you or your kids don't see them doesn't mean they're not there. A lot of girls hide it. Yeah Briana Dandridge just got expelled for smoking in the bathroom

there is a van on some dudes property back in the day behind the school.that was the place to fuck during lunch, damn i miss them days

Edison is a great school, with AP classes and an IB program. Teens having sex in HS = pregnancy. This is nothing new! When your pregnant, there is no guarantee that you will feel sick and be able to stay home that day before you go into labor. There's a school nurse, and thats better. I swim at Lee District and had to ask Management to stop two teens attempting to have sex in the jacuzzi - in my face! So, in a corner of a classroom with blinds and no teacher paying attention, much better! If you really live in this area, pay attention to the cars young people are driving, their clothes, and behavior. Those are possible drug dealers. A small transaction in the school bathroom is nothing in comparison. Your daughter will always meet kids who push the limits, you should have taught her to be able to talk to you and trust you WAAAAAY before HS.
