OP said "good banks". Those are three of the absolute worst.

I'm a member of Navy, Pentagon, and Apple FCUs. All are great.

If you have to have a bank, BB&T isn't too bad, they kept some of 1st Virginia's philosophy went they took over. Toronto Dominion (TD) is okay too. I like that it's a Canadian bank and thus not as corrupt as 'Murcan banks.

The George Mason Banks in this area changed to United Bank several years ago. Is there another George Mason Bank?

I've been with Eagle Bank for the last few years.

It's been great. Especially pleased with the people.

Northwest Federal Credit Union did a great job holding all of the money I got from the Russians. Now I'm a bit indisposed and can't use it anymore.

No banks should be even remotely considered. Just about any credit union will be better than any bank.

Burke and Herbert is everything a bank is supposed to be. Only drawback is they do not have branches everywhere. But you can get a device to make deposits. They still have an A rating and were rated nationally as one of the top banks in the country. When I was buying my house and needed a signed bank statement I went in was helped within 5 minutes and got what I needed for free. A week later I go back in and the girl says to me are you a homeowner now? Bank of america had me wait 45 minutes and charged me $15 plus tried to sell me their mortgage. I do not have lots of money but get great customer service.
