I was in a nail salon yesterday. The ladies there were speaking nothing but Asian. It really seemed like they were talking about their customers.

I found this to be rude but did not say anything. Next time , I want to say something because it really was offensive.

wht topped it off was a young Korean lady with a voice like a trucker who kept talking on her cell phone as loud as possible.

second gripe - i have never seen a cash regiter actually used in one of these places. THey use a calculator and then open a drawer and put cashin. Is this legal? SHould I say something?

I have never been to a nail salon where the people aren't Viet Namese. I really don't care. I go to Elegant Nails on Lee Highway. It's right across from Paul VI High School and it's the best. The people there all speak American as well. Sometimes they talk Vietnamese amonst themselves. There is even bhudda statue in the front of the store and they put fruit in front of him!!!!! No they do not use a cash register. They do not take checks either. But they do a great job.

Steve, I hardly ever see men getting their nails done. Do you? Sometimes I see guys in there getting pedis but not nail polish on toes. But that's okay - whatever floats your boat. Metrosexuals are cool too.

The calculator bit is to cheat the government out of taxes. You will be charged the standard state sales tax but it will go right into their pocket. Maybe every fifth sale the state will see.
Same thing goes on in Chinese carryouts. They always use a calculator. Been going on for years.
