Local military surplus?

Where do you go for local military surplus? I find Ranger Surplus to be too overpriced (IMHO). I used to shop at Annandale Surplus a long, long time ago. They're no longer around. What other places are in the area with reasonable prices? I know Dominion Arms has a small selection, what else is around?

No.

No. When they moved, they shutted the upstairs operation entirely. I don't actually know if they'll do transfers. I've never asked.

FMJ isn't the best surplus store, but they're really the only game in town. I actually miss Sunny's. They weren't exceptional, but they'd bring in some good deals every now and then.

Ranger Surplus? As a test, go into any Ranger Surplus, ask for paracord, and see what their dropout employees bring you. It's actually pretty sad.

I gave up on all the local surplus stores years ago. Sunny's
was always a disappointment to me because 75% of their merchandise
was cheap Chinese crap that wasn't even military quality by their
standards. Best way for me now is online. I would imagine with the
war in Iraq being over now there will be a lot of new and interesting
gear on the market so I'll be watching. One thing I did find at
Ranger that was great was a couple of Army surplus wooden artillery
round crates that were in really good shape. I sanded them, leaving
the markings intact, and turned them into end tables in my man cave.
They really didn't have much else that I cared for. Try these guys
online:

I'm not going in to test. What did they come out with?

Basically, yes. I think it was the Coghlan's nylon cord. Mind you, it wasn't the kernmantle cordage that Coghlan's sells as a poor-man's paracord. It was braided nylon cord. Twine. This was the Tyson's store.

The Fairfax store tried to pass off some o.d. colored string as paracord. It was about 1/4 the width of real 550 paracord. It was braided, non-kernmantle, pretty crappy stuff, and appeared to have been on various shelves of various stores for about a decade.

See this guy he can set you up with plenty of military gear and also three hots and a cot. On certain nights you can even come over and fuck his sister.
