Pedestrian Struck by Two Hit and Run Drivers
A man was in the 7000 block of Little River Turnpike, attempting to cross from north to south on Sunday, January 13 at 1:52 a.m. He was hit by a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta. The driver, a 28-year-old Silver Spring, Maryland man, was traveling east in the left lane. He stopped and called police.

As the victim was lying in the roadway, he was struck by two more cars that did not stop. The first car was described as a cream or silver, Toyota Camry and there is no description of the second car. The victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He is Hispanic, in his 30s and wore a dark-colored jacket.

Here is a photo of an actual beaner-crossing sign in place on Interstate 5 in California. Sad, but true. I think we need more signs in this area like this in place at "Mexican crosswalks" as Gravis points out.

Yes, those of us here that live in the Falls Church area know this is very common. I don't know what they're problem is, but I constantly see latin's attempting to run like asswipes across Rt.50 and Rt.7 by Home Depot like they are unable to wait for the light! I can't count how many times in the 3yrs I've lived there I've seen them plastered on the roadway from trying to cross. And they cross with children... wtf?!? It's like a jungle full of animals trying to cross the street combined with hundreds of speeding arlington and dc pricks trying to get home from their miserable commutes.

How much is it going to cost to build a pedestrian bridge over Rt. 50 in the 7-corners area that the drunk homeless beaners probably will not even use?

So they will continue to get hit and we will continue to pay for their medical care, and have a worthless bridge!

When I read about them getting hit I immediately think of Rt 50 at Lohmanns Plaza. They put a light right in the middle of the street just so the hispanics could cross safely and they still just run across where ever they happen to be.

The way they dodge speeding cars and move around reminds me of the Frogger video game. All the county needs to do is put in some speakers and pipe in the background noise from the game. When they get hit it should make the sound when the frogs get run over.

God I remember those signs. You'd find them just north of the San Ysidro border crossing, a few miles further north as you approached Chula, and a couple way up by the San Clemente checkpoint.

They put them up in response to the fact that illegals were getting taken out at a rate that probably equals the number of dead deer that get taken out in Fairfax county during the fall rut and during the winter.

making it safer to illegally enter the country is just illogical. i guess we should just get rid of razor wire fences at prisons too. you dont want inmates to get hurt while trying to escape.

I guess no one has heard innocent until proven guilty...due process...and while you dont apparently find human life sacred...some do. The comparison between persons convicted of a crime to those who at best can only be accused of a crime is ridiculous. And dont even equate a person apparently illegally immigrating into this country to someone breaking into your home....it's not the same. One as an immenent danger to yourt life...and despite the never ending fear expressed in this group a person crossing a border..does not!

what does due process have to do with idiots sprinting across a highway?!

then why in the hell are they sprinting across a highway?! if anything, these signs will give them a false sense of security in thinking people will magically not hit them.

sprinting across a highway is in fact against the law in itself.

Must be the same due process this agent got. Oh, and there is no imminent danger to life when someone crosses the border illegally. Keep dreaming, Vince. --

Border cop dies, struck by fleeing truck
Vehicle suspected of entering illegally from Mexico
The Associated Press

YUMA, Ariz. - A Border Patrol agent trying to stop a vehicle that had illegally entered the U.S. was struck and killed Saturday in southeastern California, agency officials said.

The agent was killed about 20 miles west of Yuma in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area, a spot along the border that is popular with off-road vehicle enthusiasts and frequently used by smugglers.

The agent attempted to impede the vehicle's progress before he was hit, but the Border Patrol did not immediately have more information, said agent Eric Anderson, a spokesman for the agency's Yuma sector.

The name of the agent killed was not immediately released because his family had not been notified.

OHHHH! So I get it now....this tragic incident would justify us mining the road..so the driver and possible other riders would be killed before the tragic accident could happen. Riiiiggghhttt!

The driver should be found and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Again...the rule of law applies.

Vince, you are smart enough to know that your landmining comments are nothing more than inflammatory rhetoric much like alot of the dialogue on this thread which you pointed out. My post was to point out that you have a warped sense of the realities and consequences associated with illegal border crossings. You flat out contended that there is no imminent danger to life associated with illegal border crossings. This circumstance and many like it directly refute your assertion.

To all: no one should defend illegal immigration. People that are in this country illegally are committing a crime. It IS that simple. If you believe that is satisfactory, then you must reassess you patriotism. If you are insistent that this crime should not be considered as such, then you must reconsider the rest of the laws in place. The United States IS the land of opportunity. This opportunity should be viable to those that follow the rule of law. Anything else is an effort to anarchism.

Dear Steve..this is not the Land of Oz....the rule of law you so talk about says...Innocent Until Proven Guilty....and nothing Steve is as simple as you woul lile. With the stroke of a pen..all the illegals can be made legal. Our judicial system, and probably all others in the world favor the rich..and the only reason you and a lot of other people keep focusing on them is because like so many times in the past....the weak and the poor are always the easiest to pick on. And how dare you challenge mine or any one else's patriotism because they dont happen to agree with your point of view. Exactly what besides express your views here have you done to declare yourself such a patriot?

Steve...have you ever speeded...cheated on your income tax...ever take illegal drugs? Id love to know your age..you think like a 20 year old who has done nothing but mouth off his entire life!

Vince, this is quite possibly the most inane post you have ever made. you make such great assumptions like the world is trying to pick on illegal immigrants because they are poor. steve and others point out that the problem lies in that they are here illegally and you sidestep it by saying that can change. Vince, everything can change but it hasnt therefore we are bound by the law and it is our civic duty to make sure they are upheld as best we can. you seem to think that because the court of law says people are innocent until proven guilty that they are never guilty and facts be dammed so long as it's not what the court thinks. if everyone thought like you, we would all cheat and steal so long as we could get away with it. Vince, i hope that is not how you live your life.

the bottom line: illegal immigrants are here illegally no matter if that changes in the future or not.

take some Valium and go to sleep.

Vince get off your soap box!

The real issue is "Immigration without acclimation". If you live in America, then you need to speak english and adapt to the american culture. End of Story!
