Best Burger in NOVA
Posted by: Bonif1de ()

Hey guys this has proabably been said a million times. But where is the best place to get a burger in NOVA. So far I like the Counter, and of course Five Guys. I heard of some other places such as Ray's Hell Burger, but I've never been... You're thoughts?

so glad someone finally brought up this topic. After pizza, cheesesteaks and fajitas, it is about time someone started a burger thread.

Bravo, sir, bravo!

off my grill. I'd never waste my time looking for a "good" hamburger. You find the best food at places that have a specialty. You don't go to a seafood place and order steak for example. I don't know of a specialty place for hamburgers that is better than my grill. So for me, it's a six pack and the grill

Here's my list:

1. Ray's Hellburger
2. Brgr Shack
3. Elevation Burger
4. 5 Guys
5. BGR-The Burger Joint

I've heard of a couple other places to try in D.C. but haven't made the trip yet.

Since I started cooking with natural wood charcoal (vs. briqettes, ala Kingsford), nothing compares to a home-grilled burger. Toppings, etc., might make for different tasting experiences overall, but the beef will not top what I grill at home.

Why is it that men who grill always think they cook well? Every time I go to a cookout at one of these braggarts homes, I'm usually wishing there was a BK around the corner.

I'll take a Ray's Hellburger any day over "Buddy Bob's backyard burger".

Most people just cook the shit out of their burgers and don't let them rest. I love Ray's and BGR, but I just fixed myself a burger at home, and it was deee-lish!

Now if I just had some fois gras to put on it...

Ray's is great, no contest. However, making a good burger at home is really not that hard. Fresh ground meat from Springfield Butcher is a start and there is nothing wrong with keeping it simple with some cheese and a good roll. Just take your time, flip it no more than twice and let it rest for 5-10 minutes when it comes off the grill.

For a good inexpensive burger I hit up chains:

Steak n Shake in Fredericksburg VA

if it's a nice day and I feel like driving- Cookout in Richmond, VA....the shakes alone make it worth the trip!!!! All their other food is GOOD and CHEAP!!!!

They have this coke machine there where you can choose the different flavors of coke, sprite, fanta, etc. Kind of neat.

Lame! Saw these machines at the World of Coke when I was in the ATL on business. Pretty smart concept, but they are starting to pop up all sorts of places and are certainly not unique to elevation.

Ironically, given the thread topic, I just saw one in a BGR a few weeks ago.

hey 12 year old....why so bitter? why can't you just say you think 5 guys is the best...we would all get your point or opinion...but instead you feel it important to reference "penis play" twice in a post consisting of only 14 words...seems like you have some issues with yourself you don't like...relax...when you grow up you'll find that your aggression isn't cool or funny and that your closeted homosexuality is no big deal to any rational humans...unless your future includes prison...does it? then start communicating like an adult

With all the talk about Arties, etc., how are the burgers at the Great American Restaurant chains? They cost 10 dollars which is pretty pricey IMO.

I just paid $7 for a burger (only) at Wendy's. I can assure you that for another $3 at GAR, you will get something infinitely more delicious than Wendy's.

Burgers are so easy to make, Its hard to mess them up. That said there has to be high fat ground beef fresh not frozen and they should be cooked on a grill.

5 Guys/Fuddruckers are both good I will vote for Fuds though better bun, and a great veggie add on bar . I have seen so many great burgers in ads, Good because they have a salad bar piled on top of them I guess. My preference is the simpler the better but those huge burgers with cheese running out do look good.in the pictures..

Boardwalk Fries has a lousy burger because the bun is a hard Kieser roll, too hard to get thru it. B.F get a real Hamburger bun..

Sign of the Whale in Loehmans Plaza had good burgers too.
