Why does everyone on FFU seem to hate Lisa Baden so much? Hasn't caused me any problems since she was ripped out of my womb!

Because she's ugly and annoying. She's jot funny and she sucks at reporting traffic. Did I miss anything?

I didn't mind Lisa Baden, she was just doing her job in an environment where she was presumably forced to over-report Maryland traffic and under-report Virginia traffic. And WTOP management probably forbade her from using the word "abeam," leaving it for the exclusive use by Bob Marbourg.

I don't know her personally, so I don't really hate her. However, I hated the over emphasis of Maryland traffic, especially Father Hurley Boulevard, Route 32 or Urbana and I disliked her presentation - i.e. the signing and "cutesy" interjections. It took away from the information.

She is super perky. We are stitting in traffic and it annoying to hear her talk.

I hope you meant "singing". How can you "sign" on the radio?

Her voice is terrible, she doesn't know Virginia exists, she never is up to date and doesn't ever give me worthwhile information. The AMOUNT of volume on 495 in the Tyson's area is somewhat relevant information for me but I hear more about a 3 minute back up on Father Hurley Blvd.

Lisa volunteered to speak to my workgroup taking time out of her busy schedule to accommodate us. She was pleasant, appreciative, eloquent and overall an inspiration to many. We appreciate her for who and what she is so I cannot speak for those who feel otherwise.

F-U!!! "taking time out her busy schedule"?!? You know who has a busy schedule? The tens of thousands of people who get f-ed every day because of WTOP's crappy traffic reports. I'm sure she's pleasant and a nice person but her traffic reports suck ass and she adds nothing but misery to my life. So Lisa Baden talking to your "workgroup" is useless to the rest of the world. Your workgroup and Lisa Baden offer nothing.

So just because there is an unusual incident on some small road in the middle of no-where, doesn't mean it needs to be mentioned. Review the actual traffic that is going on even if it's the same crap that backs up every day because depending on the actual amount of traffic compared to usual and reports that we can rely on being accurate, people may take alternate routes. But give us information that actually helps. Lisa Baden doesn't do that and that's why I hate her.

She can't win though. Either she gives me bad news or she doesn't. If she doesn't and there's no traffic, it's not like I say "thank you Lisa Baden". If she doens't give me bad news about my route and there is traffic afterall, I hate her for not mentioning it. It's not really her fault. It's the nature of the game. But I don't doubt she's nice.

I think Father Hurley Boulevard is a boilerplate on her traffic reports on a daily basis. Yup. She sure loves to report the backups in that area. I guess it's to warn those people coming down from Fredneck and Urbana in Maryland.

Dang, but there's a lot of anger here. I was over in Afghanistan when she left WTOP, and it's interesting to listen to the station after her departure.

I too used to loathe her cutesie crap, but I'm really starting to think it was the WTOP culture more than just her trying to develop an on-air persona. Those guys are all cutesie morons. I've switched over to WNEW, where the news reporting is infinitely more professional, and I can fantasize about motor-boating Lisa in the morning, and Julie in the afternoons. Jug City ... that's what I'm talking about!

I am not one of them. But I do think she had weird voice but given a chance, I have the right tool to fix her vocal cord :)

She only reported what was actually happening on real time. So you don't like what she was reporting? Go to another channel and drink the cool-aid.
