A Good Pumpkin Patch?
Posted by: Jonesy ()
Date: October 17, 2007 01:05PM

I'm wanting to take my family to a pumpkin patch this weekend. The only one I remember while growing up is Cox Farms but I'm sure its going to be overcrowded and they're asking $13 a head for small children which is downright shitty.

Does anyone here know of an alternative pumpkin patch worth checking out?

There are a bunch of good places in Loudoun County and this should be a nice weekend for a road trip.

Check out http://www.loudounfarms.org/default.asp?contentID=51 and download the Word document for a listing of what is available at each farm.

Stribling Orchard in Markham or Cows-n-Corn in Midland - good day trips.

The one in Reston at Rt 7 and Barron Cameron isn't bad - although my husband said it was much better when he was little.

When a Russian gets me in his sights
He pulls the trigger and I feel the blow
A burst of rounds takes my horse below

And as I lay there gazing at the sky
My body's numb and my throat is dry
And as I lay forgotten and alone
Without a tear I draw my parting groan"

The Russian cultural delegation hit up the #MDCornMaze the other day. It seems a jolly good time was had by all on this little excursion!

That's the spookiest Halloween story I have heard since the one about that bunny dude! Please enrich me with more of your quaint American folklore, fellow local average Joe.
