I'm sure there were republicans working at Sears when this took place. As with the Clintons, NAFTA, and other American companies it was Americans screwing fellow Americans for profit. That's the tragedy. That and allowing American manufacturing to move entire companies, tooling, machinery and intellectual property, to china so the shareholders can maintain profit margins and circumvent regulations and union labor costs here at home. It's gotten to the point that it's a national security risk should we get in a conflict. As another poster stated the chinese even make the meds we take. How vulnerable does that leave us?

Fact is that even democrats and republicans can agree that America has fucked it's self for the almighty dollar and we are doing nothing about it.

They switched marketing strategies to emphasize new designs and new features to convince people to give up their old cars. Thus began planned obsolescence in America, long before outsourcing became a fad. Also remember that before U.S. industries were relocating their plants to Mexico and China to reduce labor costs and increase profits they were relocating their plants from the northeast to the south for the same purpose. And plenty of those involved in both of these steps were Republicans. The Republican attachment to the U.S. factory worker is very much a recent phenomenon.
