Jason Koplin, 34, and Violet Smyth, 23, were in Las Vegas when they were arrested by FBI agents last Wednesday, according to San Jose police. Records show they are being held in jail without bail in Clark County, Nevada, and are awaiting extradition to Santa Clara County.
Around 7:30 p.m. on April 6, officers were called to the area of Palmia Park near La Strada and Primrose drives after someone requested a welfare check for someone inside a vehicle parked there, police said. Responding officers found 22-year-old Zane Blake Groves suffering from stabbing injuries; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
