A Dive Bar is a cheap place to have a few cold beers after work in crowd of people who get along some also have wine or liquor yesterday they only had cold beer.
Dive bars are very popular to a degree some have standing crowds , some don't but all are great places to relax and they should have food that's good and cheap and goes well with the booze . Sports TVs are popular today , yesterday they were not found in many dive bars . One constant about a great dive bar is when you head inside no one gives a shit about politics much as people know its a touchy subject and they want to have some fun drink a few cold ones and kick back just relaxing with friends and regulars
Dive bars were once joints that looked like "dives" on the outside but today that's changing somewhat as the good old places are gone and you have to take what you can get today , that said some are still true dive looking joints but have slowed down from their heyday
Ill start with the most famous and greatest Dive Bar in NOVA's history The Vienna INN Rip Mike Abraham !
Green Leaf on Rt 1 , Green Dolphin on 29 in Fairfax, Janets Place , The joint at Cedar Lane and Rt 29 around the corner from the 7-11 where the postal workers went to back in the 70s and 80s , The joint that became JJs on Huntington Ave before about 85 , Georges Inn near 4 mile Run , Mr Smiths of Georgetown up Tysons on Rt 7 , The Sign Of The Whale at Lohemanns Plaza , Mamas and PJ Skidoos in Fairfax City ,Franks in Falls Church , Fat Tuesdays off Braddock by GMU, Sulleys out Rt 50 in Chantilly and Kilroys on Braddock at the beltway plus Bardo Rodeo but that was too expensive to be fully qualified as a Dive Bar , Kates in Springfield so many more if only the brain cells would cooperate LOL I have drank some cold beer in all these joints !
