While the planning commission and developers devastate Fairfax County lands, surrounding counties are beautifying their counties with more parklands.

Prince William County Announces the opening of more Wetlands and Park land at Neabsco Creek

June 1, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail Neabsco Creek Boardwalk
15125 Blackburn Rd, Woodbridge, VA 22191

Join us for the grand opening of the Neabsco Creek Boardwalk. Attendees will have the opportunity to celebrate the opening of a world-class recreational amenity here in Prince William County and be among the first members of the public to set foot on this stunning ¾ long boardwalk meandering through tidal wetlands.

We will also be celebrating the christening of the County's newest regional park, Neabsco Regional Park, encompassing the boardwalk, Rippon Lodge Historic Site, Rippon Landing Park, and the Julie J. Metz Wetlands.

Following from the ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:00am, fun family events including live entertainment, raptor demonstrations, guided tours focusing on the natural habitat and history of the area, and food trucks.

Primary Parking will be at Rippon Landing (15125 Blackburn Rd, Woodbridge, VA 22191), with secondary parking available at Porter Traditional School and the Rippon Lodge Historic Site. Shuttle busses will run between locations for visitors' convenience. Transportation via golf cart will be available between the parking lot and trailhead for those who prefer it.

"While the planning commission and developers devastate Fairfax County lands"

Would you care to elaborate on just what park lands the planning commission and developers are devastating in Fairfax County. There are a number of questionable projects that have been approved in the County, but they are not on County park lands. They are on private property.

Fairfax County does not need to be adding parks. We have large amounts of park land. What we need to be doing is better maintaining the parks that we have.
