Who needs 60 or 70 guns? All it takes is one with a good shooter to be quite effective. Would you like to go to the range this weekend? I've love to see a sissy get blown backwards on his ass from the small kick an AR-15 makes.

The following are taken from the Oxford English Dictionary, and bracket in time the writing of the 2nd amendment:

1709: "If a liberal Education has formed in us well-regulated Appetites and worthy Inclinations."

1714: "The practice of all well-regulated courts of justice in the world."

1812: "The equation of time ... is the adjustment of the difference of time as shown by a well-regulated clock and a true sun dial."

1848: "A remissness for which I am sure every well-regulated person will blame the Mayor."

1862: "It appeared to her well-regulated mind, like a clandestine proceeding."

1894: "The newspaper, a never wanting adjunct to every well-regulated American embryo city."

The phrase "well-regulated" was in common use long before 1789, and remained so for a century thereafter. It referred to the property of something being in proper working order. Something that was well-regulated was calibrated correctly, functioning as expected. Establishing government oversight of the people's arms was not only not the intent in using the phrase in the 2nd amendment, it was precisely to render the government powerless to do so that the founders wrote it.

Give it up. Guns are a religion to those Gun Zealots feeding on NRA propaganda, and no rational, well reasoned argument is going to persuade them to change their views. Gun ownership as practiced by most American gun owners is no longer under threat. Want to own a normal rifle or shotgun for hunting or keep a pistol in the home for self defense; Not a problem nowhere in the U.S. so long as you are a law abiding citizen. Want to buy such weapons. That can be done with less hassle than buying a car. The chances of this being changed by Gun Control Nuts seeking to disarm Americans are near ZERO.

What liberals call "Assault Weapons" are the common standard of firearms in America today. A woman can defend her home with an AR 15 much easier then with a 12 gauge shotgun

Over 100 million people own firearms and never commit crimes it is a tiny percentage that do, far less then the percentage that drive autos and kill because of simple stupidity, on drugs or drunk . Where's the amendment to drive in the Bill of Rights after one has broken traffic laws numerous times

40100 people were killed in vehicle accidents in 2017

How many fast cars can you own

As far as the last part of your statement Leftist and Liberal Democrats want ever single one of them banned California has a high capacity magazine ban as well as other firearm bans right now. That did nothing to stop the bar killing there as the person was not a law abiding citizen to even have a gun in a bar without a permit and with a permit there's no drinking allowed unless your the law , we see a deputy sheriff who sadly got killed in the line of duty bravely trying to stop the killer.

No one even knows all the details of what happened and why but the Post and liberal media is on every drop of blood, Why don't they get the cameras in close when idiots kill people driving ? A far greater threat !

One thing is clear the gunman took his life, he could have done as much damage if he drove his car into the bar at 100 miles an hour, you cant stop those determined to kill

What happened in New York with that limo and wedding party ?

Only 5 million are NRA owners they are 99 and 64/100 percent law abiding citizens. Now what about the average sloppy driver of a vehicle
