I know you want to believe that but the data does not support it. Kaine didn't simply win in NoVa, Tidewater and Richmond. He won in every major population center in the state. He pounded Stewart in his own county. Even if you expand it to any jurisdiction that cast 30,000 votes Kaine won all but about 8, and he pulled roughly 40% of the votes even in those. It is only in the really small jurisdictions that Kaine's vote percentage dropped to the twenties and thirties.

Or looked at another was Kaine pulled over 56% of the votes cast in the Senate race. That was a higher percentage than two of the four successful Republican House winners did in their districts.

Virginia flipped to blue quite a while ago.
The Yankee invasion is complete.
Only pockets of conservatives still exist in the state,
and there is no place that has a significant impact.
It's Blue, baby, all blue.
Forever.

Now, being a Republican, I hate to admit the above.
And yes I went out and voted, but I knew it wouldn't matter.

Virginia is done, it's blue, it's over.
Even if I left Fairfax for the southern part of the state,
it's really just the same down there. (Just a few people
down there kidding themselves that Republicans have any chance.)

Now at the state level, we still have some semblance of sanity.
I'm talking about gun control. We are still holding the line.
But I am not sure how long that will last, given the vast
libtard influence on everything Virginia. All those immigrants
are going to be anti-gun, for example. And they will vote.

Meanwhile at the national level, this election's results will
be slowing down and frustrating Trump terribly, and could well
result in his being a one-term President. They're going to
fuck everything up, push their libtard agenda, and impeach Kavanaugh.
Because the Senate will still be Republican, the libtards won't
actually get much law enacted. But they will fuck up everything,
frustrate everything, and create infinite noise, impeach Trump, etc.

When 2020 rolls around, hard to say what will happen.
But based on this election, I'd guess that the new President
will be a Democrat, the whole country will go ultra-hard left,
and it will stay that way more or less forever.

I'm old so I'll be dead pretty soon, in like 10 years if I even
last that long. So I am pretty sanguine about it all.
But, yeah, the country is over.

It's been over for quite some time now.
It's just that it's getting to be more obvious.

You people are hilarious. You act like Virginia was once this reliably Republican state that is now solidly Democratic. IT IS NOT. ITS A FUCKING TWO PARTY STATE. Last time I checked Republicans were still a major power in the General Assembly and in many local administrations. The just ended Republican dominated House of Representatives Virginia delegation just dates back to the 2010 election, but four of our eleven representatives are still Republican. We've had two Democratic Senators since the 2008 election, but before the 2006 election there were two Republicans.

What has changed in recent years is that Virginia's two parties are no longer uniquely Virginian. They are increasingly mirroring the national parties. This is just as true of the Republican Party as the Democratic Party. People like John Warner and Tom Davis had no problem standing up to the Post-Reagan Republicans just as Chuck Robb stood up to the Democrats. Corey Stewart is a reflection of today's Trump-Republicans, and Tim Kaine in 2016 tried to present himself as a mainstream Democrat.

The big problem is that the GOP never found a way to resist the corporate and Far Right ideologues who took over the party after the disasters of Vietnam and Watergate. They saw the neocon barbarians at the gate, but were powerless to do anything about it. As the result, the GOP has become a letter-day version of the tobacco companies of the 1960s.

It's because of all the moronic Silicon Valley trash that moved her after the bust. Little by little they are bringing their non-sensical idea here.
