A Nationalist is simply someone who believes the interests of his nation take priority over the interests of "the World." This is in contrast to a Globalist, who does the opposite.

Another hint: when you've spent three years displaying extreme views on exactly those topics, and then say you're a "nationalist", any reasonable person is going to accept that as what you mean.

The problem is that in this context, the one I cited is the one that most people hear. Words evolve; words have different meanings in different contexts.

As I also wrote, I'm willing to believe that Orange Julius meant one of those other definitions. But since that isn't what people are going to hear, that's not what was interpreted. Game over.
