RESTON, Va. -- Fairfax County police are investigating another attack on a woman in Reston.

The latest incident happened about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Wiehle Avenue and North Shore Drive.

Investigators said the man brandished a knife and tried to pull a 30-year-old woman off a path and into the woods to assault her. Police said she managed to get away, run home and call police.


She described her attacker as a black or Hispanic male 20 to 30 years old, and weighing between 140 and 160 pounds.

This is the fifth attack on a woman in the same area, police said. While investigating Wednesday night's attack, another woman reported a similar attack from Tuesday night. A 22-year-old Reston-area woman was sitting outside her apartment in the 1500 block of Northgate Square when a man approached her, grabbed her and brandished a knife, police said. The woman freed herself from the attacker and fled the area on foot.

Strange but the pattern of the area is a lot like the Reston attacks, some even occured around the same time.

I wonder if this is the same guy who is in both areas for some reason. Here's the Reston attacks vs Metro. There are even some attacks a couple of days apart. The reason I say that is he strikes twice on the same day in some cases, plus notice two attacks together and then a third way down the road.
