Season Planholder Field Day

Used to be called Appreciation Day, but no more. Still nice for the top tier fans to get a little recognition. Interviews, autographs —- sort of like a company picnic.

Pretty decent affair. Free water and soda for all. Time spent time with Zim and Scherzer so far.

Wrapped up with a Juan Soto Photo session. He’s such a ball of energy! So fun day so far. Back in 35 minutes for the actual game. That might not go as well with Austin Voth on the hill.

...................but no free Cracker Jacks like last year. I guess with no post-season money, they can not afford the Cracker Jacks.

It was not a bad event, all the same. I like the Q&A sessions. The goofy games can go, but at least the fans who get picked get to spend some time with the players that they like. Turner and Rendon seem to enjoy "fan duty". If they do not, you never would know it. Rumour is that other than Turner and Rendon, most of the players do not like fan duty. Many of them do like the community service work, but for some reason, the rumour is that they do not like "fan duty".

Things have varied on the food front over the years. Peanuts and pretzels have come and gone, seemingly at the whim of the dreaded Valerie Camillo. As for drinks, it hasn't been that long since the day when none of either one were made available, either as freebies or for purchase. Ity's a far cry from the bbq on the field at RFK back in 2006.

How do these "rumours" get started, I wonder? You should maybe do a ziMS Foundation 'Night at the Park' gala one year. Most of the English-speaking players show up and hang out. Nothing like actually talking to him for a while to let you know what sort of guy a player is.

Read the post, connect the dots.

I have been out of town for that one the past few years, so I have missed it.

There is no need for dots when experience is broad enough to brand the premise as false on its face.
