FCPS jean policy

I wonder if Principals dictate the professional dress code of the teachers?

Two years ago, our ADmin. told us that we couldn’t wear tennis shoes to work.
This year, the same ADmin, has said that we can wear jeans with spirit wear and tennis shoes.

I’ve always worn tennis shoes due to medical necessity.

Jeans on Friday is fine; five days of the week? A little rusty.

Teachers are allowed to wear jeans five days a weeks as long as they wear school related shirts.

Sounds great. I’m into crusty feet. Do you teach a foreign language?

Crestwood or Lynbrook allow jeans. The male Admin must be a farmer.

There is no jean policy. As long as your professional, wear what you want. I know teachers who wear jeans every day.

When teachers wear sweatpants or dresses. It's easier to bone them in the janitor's closet. Jeans are so tight that its difficult to get them off in tiny dark places.

Dunno about you, but I always try to get off in tiny dark places: the tighter, the better.

Staff and teachers are only permitted to wear jeans with spirit wear. Admins’ policy for this year. I have dress shirts that look professional with jeans. Nope, only if we have the school mascot across our chest can we wear jeans.

That may be your school policy, but it is not an FCPS policy. And if I was you, I'd tell your admin you'll adhere to a BS dress code when the county feels like giving you a clothing allowance.

If you wish to be treated and paid as a professional, then dress as a professional.

Teachers should not wear jeans or shorts. Only if you are a P.E. teacher should you be allowed to wear shorts. Dress professionally, act professionally.

Women teachers should not wear flip-flops.

I don't want to see their crusty heels, french-fry toes hanging over the edge, pus-filled corns, and 6 inch-diameter cankles.

You know what's really funny is a fat cankle chic wearing an ankle bracelet.

It looks like a dog chain.

Whether or not teachers/ staff can wear jeans depends on the individual school. Some schools only allow it on Fridays and delayed openings; others are more relaxed and you can wear jeans anytime. I think elementary school teachers should be allowed to wear jeans daily, because they're constantly having to kneel down and tie shoes, wipe dirty little hands, sit on the floor with the kids, etc.
