Metro Expansion Traffic Crime Increase?

Curious to know with metro that expanded to Tysons and Reston if vehicle traffic and crime in those areas increased. I've seen more cars around for people to arrive and depart clogging the area. Also noticed an increase in what can be perceived as lower income groups of people in what used to be middle class suburbs and neighborhood shopping centers. The landscape is changing in the burbs very rapidly.

I think you know the answer.

Just imagine for a second that you have a nice place...and then you let a bunch of niggers from the ghetto into that place every day. What happens to that place?

Actually it's the policies of segregation and discrimination set back in this country that planted the seeds of than which you fear today .

Hmmm. NONSENSE REVIVAL TOUR 2018. There used to be buses, you know. Every urbanite who wanted to use transit to visit a suburban mall or some outlying white-trash neighborhood was doing so long before Metro arrived. The stupid people won't ever accept these and other such facts though. That would spoil their cherished little fairy tales of childish hate and ignorance.

Not sure if it's factual but I see so many cars driving in and out of reston since in this area you need a secondary form of transportation just to use metro. So cars that would normally not use the toll road or the local exit do.

As for transportation I get a sense that many are using it to get into metro from inside and outside the beltway. I literally see more teenagers that don't appear to be local.

I stopped going to Tysons because that place jist made it way too accessible and crowded.

Tysons has been accessible and crowded since the 1960's.

Talking about fairy tales and ignorance! There is a huge difference between jumping on a train and 30 minutes arriving at your destination and taking a bus that involves 2 or 3 transfers and maybe 3 or 4 hours during off peak travel.

Once again, you prove yourself to be nothing more than a pointless waste-grade retard. The Tysons bus loop at the Hecht Company back door was equivalent to the Vienna Metro stop -- a key western terminus of mass transit into Fairfax County.

World-class stupidity. Tysons was the hub before Metro. But it's okay -- we can all just adjust to your persistent ignorance. Not many are in your sorry-ass league, but pathetic trolls are kind of common around here, after all.

I'm not even sure what your point is! The topic of the thread is whether Metro has contributed to the increase in crime. During planning and into the construction phase there was concern about exporting crime from the inner city when transportation became easier through the Silver Line. Sure enough, the "worries" became reality as crime became an issue after its opening. As much as I hate the WaPo, you should read the newspaper a bit so that you are better informed. If you are reluctant to read, just google the thread topic and you will get printed story after story about this issue. Here is some help for you!

That's because you're such a totally fucked up dumbshit. Tysons was easily reached by bus in the days before Metrorail because it was a headline destination served by express routes from all over. Anyone from the inner burbs or DC proper could easily have come here by bus. You are just some simple-ass dumbfuck too stupid to understand the most basic facts of the matter.

Just give it some time.

Niggers have already started their migration.
Cameron Run waterpark was fun, safe and a great place. Then, thru lanes were built from nigger PG county.
No longer go.

Home Depot Springfield was one of the top stores on the east coast after the Woodbridge one....then, Franconia Springfield metro opened...

Tysons, this past holiday season, had multiple nigger shoplifting rings doing what niggers do BEST-robbin’ n steeeelin’

Tysons is next.

Introducing blacks to an area is the exact same as introducing violent crime. Metro enables that.

I do not believe that bus service from the inner city was any better before the Silver Line opened. In fact, it may have been nearly impossible to get from Anacostia to Tysons via public transit before the Silver Line. Logic (which is sorely lacking here) says that if the bus lines were so good before Metro there would not have been a need for rail.

You could very well be the stupidest fucking asshole ever to have posted on this forum. Had you but a single shred of understanding, you would have known that the once extensive bus network was dismantled as Metro came to the suburbs, going from being the primary carrier to being a secondary carrier ferrying people to and from the Metro.

But you didn't know anything about that. Because you are nothing more than a backwards braindead dumbfuck who hasn't got a single worthwhile thing to say on any topic at all. Litter blowing in the wind would be more consequential.

It is a myth that Metro is used by hordes of urban criminals to get to and from suburban locations to commit crimes. When most suburban locations have become Metro accessible the trend has been to let them become more urban. One thing that comes with that urbanization is increased crime.

I am done with this, however, one last thought. Your last statement is rather strange. I guess you are implying that there is a magical transition to the character of an area when it becomes urbanized. Does urbanization change the people or is it different people that makes an area urban and therefore more susceptible to crime.

Wash Post(1978):

“Having Metro[rail] increases the chances of crime. The criminals can get off the train and break into your home and get back onto the train. I don't think that's as likely to happen on buses, where they have to walk past the driver to get on board."

Just wait and watch.

You already have Trayvon’s-in-training and Ballou valedictorians riding metro for free!

What I am saying is that when you take a suburban area like Tysons and make it more like an urban area, you get more of the problems that you find in more urban areas. In America at least that includes changes in the type of crime so it more closely resembles crime that you find in urban areas.

Metro means more problems for that area. Tysons gonna be Pentagon city mall. Reston won't be that lovely suburb no more.

Used to drive for Metrobus back in the day when you did more that just shuttle back and forth between two Metro stations. I think my favorite route was the commuter express run from the W Bell parking lot at what was then Tyson's Corner to 7th and Independence downtown. First stop was at 18th & E, so you could run full speed ahead and intimidate motorists all the way through Virginia. All the fun's gone out of it these days.

Saudis are now looking more west..Reston. Wherever there are places to congregate to drink coffee and smoke cigarettes they will be there. Reston town center is already hosting them more and more. Besides rtc is a perfect place for them to deliberately drive their bmws around and around for them to be seen. Im already anticipating tons of cologne smelling douches in the summer just walking amd sitting around outside of my condo.

Simple !

Whites rewrote regulations to reduce the bottleneck into DC and get away from niggas flooding into the fed agencies! With a (fed) building in tysons their problems were all solved!!

Obama and Fx Co Gov democrats hated this and built a metro so nigs could get to those "white jobs" and squeeze them out !!
