Is it legal for 20-yr-old waiters to serve alcohol at restaurants?

Is it legal for 20-yr-old waiters to serve alcohol at restaurants?
Or do should customers demand to see his ID?

Does Fairfax County or State of Virginia have any laws/regulations on this?

I have no idea. But it is legal to enter the country without papers and then to scream at the Virginia Highway Patrol when your 16-year-old gets drunk, gets pulled over for going 95 MPH without a license and then jumps off a bridge and kills himself.

Anyone else see something wrong with this picture?

I served beer and wine when i was 16, but I think the law is 18 for that and 21 for liquor, or something.

According to the State of Virginia's Dept of Alcoholic Beverage Control,

Q: How old does a waiter or waitress have to be?
A: Waiter or waitress - 18 years of age, Bartender - 21 years of age.




Q: What type of clothes can be worn in the restaurant by employees?

A: Basically, any type clothing may be worn provided it has not been provided
by a wholesaler. However, on the premises of a mixed beverage licensee
clothing which stresses nudity or near nudity is prohibited.

Yeah I know of a few places in Fairfax where the waitress was 18 and still served hard liquor to our table.

You can serve/sell it at 18, beer or liquor, but you can mix it or open it unless you are 21. Served long enough to know...

no it isnt unless done under the supervision of a liquor license holder. Thats the way it was in 2007 at least.
