Did your HS have homecoming king/queen?

After reading the thread about girls having to submit their homecoming dress pics, there was some news from alumni at my old high school: they got rid of the homecoming king and queen because it's not a gender neutral idea. Thought that was interesting. My kids are only in elementary school so not really familiar with the traditions of high schools around here or if that's really even a common thing around the country.

Traditionally in this area, a retard/liberal is elected Homecoming King as a cruel joke.
