(in the USA you have to have permission to protest (ie, take part in it rather than simply view it)
DEMOCRATS - SUCH AS IN CHARLOTTE'S VILLE, have been writing themselves permission to hold "counter protests" specifically designed to create "face offs", which are completely un-necessary (each rally could be on different days. there is no "right to shut people up" but there is a STRONG LEGAL CONCEPT of giving each a turn to speak UN-INTERRUPTED)

as far as being felony charges (blood spilled, intentful damage "over $2,000 by law"): that i doubt seriously
