What ever happened to it.

I never got a chance to eat there. Was it that bad?

It sucked. Go to Arthur Treacher's instead...

Also, what happened to 3 Chef's, Sunset Grille, Tom Weston's, Lamplighter, and Arthur Treacher's?

Why oh why did all of these fine eating establishments have to close down? What do we have now? Just a bunch of corporate owned bullshit.

Chops was a quality restaurant. Excellent chef, fabulous menu, terrific bar. They put a lot of money into creating a decor that attracted and entertained diners and drinkers.

What they lacked: A marketing plan. Unless you drove by it every day and decided to stop in after awhile, you probably never heard of Chops.

So less than a year in, it closed. What was not leased was sold at auction. It's empty now, waiting for the next culinary adventurer.

Supposedly the building is haunted.

An employee hung himself in the building many many restaurants ago - I read it somewhere

A fine-dining sports bar. NOT a good idea. Which is why it lasted eight months.

Did you actually set foot in this joint? It was a bar, albeit a nicer, modern style bar with goober selection, then a dining room with tables floating about and plain, empty, white walls.
What it lacked was ambience. Felt like you were in a fucking morgue!
