Washington & Lee and Richmond are pretty private institutions. Hans might have been ranking va schools on account of academic pedigree of student body + funding. W&L and Richmond don't get nearly as much government funding as the uva and the like since they are private, but they are good none the less. employers generally aren't impressed with an applicant's diploma unless it comes from harvard, princton, yale etc.
