Emissions inspections are no longer required as well. We in Florida don't do those silly things. Count your days when you can leave the hell hole you live in. There is a better America that awaits you. I threw my Reef's flip flops out on the veranda today to warm up before I put them on. I like my flip flops toasty.

i kind of want to run without a catlytic converter. Due to startup emissions, the cats are placed extremely close to the engine block of my car leading to a ~20whp loss over a catless option. The european version of my car has about 10whp more in part due to being placed further back on the header.
The interesting thing is that VA emissions are software based, not sniffer based so you can fool them easily if you know how to with software. Dunno if you want your car to smell bad though.

I have retired from NOVA to Asheville NC. The place is overrun with ex-Floridian retirees that couldn't take the heat, bugs, and crime in FL. Natives call them "halfbacks" because they came from up north and when they fled FL they came halfway back up to NC. I can't say much because I'm a "come here" myself.

I'm retiring in 6 years. Wife will retire a year before me. We already have our retirement place in another Country. What's nice about this Country is that it is away from people. No blacks around and I mean no blacks! We have visited this place every year for the past 8 years. It is great! We are both glad to get out of here.
Both of us will be retired Gov't workers from the old retirement system so we don't have to worry about Social Security bullshit! Looking forward to it soooooooo bad. Oh yeah, no emmissions need to be done.

Don't think so bud! We stand for the American Anthem unlike the losers that do not stand. American military made sure we have that choice so if that's what they want to do then they can do that but I bet they would never serve in the military. I was drafted and I must say that it should be required to do a stint in the military. Either 2 or 4 years. Anyway back to retirement, not a teat-sucker. Parts of Fairfax county are as bad as bad parts of Florida.
Palm County is rich and poor with little in between. I broke down once and made it off an exit in the shit part of Palm County. I stood by a pay phone at a 7 ELeven. Some burned out black dudes pulled up in their jacked up car and said, GOT SOME WEED? it was hilarious. What a Shit Hole.

It's cheap to live in Florida and they don't have state taxes, which makes it a magnet for losers. People who drink everyday and get high on drugs. There are plenty of nice places but a lot of low class areas and working poor people everywhere. If you go further inland it is very southern redneck and rural. My grandma lived outside of Sarasota and her neighborhood (which was nice for the area) reminded me of Route 1 in Hybla Valley and woodbridge. ymmv.

The worst parts of Florida have nothing on Fairfax. Parts of Miami make Detroit look like Mclean.

I hear ya brother! Thank God we're leaving next Spring! Got my Fed pension and my wife's FCPS pension paying and all we need is to finalize some immigration stuff.
No secret, we are moving to Iceland! This would be impossible for most Americans, due to European countries' reluctance to accept older American retirees, that likely will overtax the National Health System. We are all set on housing, my wife has inherited her parent's beautiful home...on a bluff overlooking the sea.
My ace in the hole is my wife is Icelandic. I met her in a DC bar in 1979 when she was working at the Icelandic embassy. Still the prettiest thing I've ever seen! About the only way for an American to be allowed permanent residency is to be married to an Icelander. If, heaven forbid, I outlive my wife, I will be allowed to stay.
Icelandic people are wonderful. The language is almost impossible to learn (my wife has tried to teach me for years!) but fortunately, virtually all Icelanders under the age of 60 speak English.
Icelanders have brass balls. During the "Cod Wars" of the 60's and 70's they went out in small gunboats and faced down British Royal Navy destroyers that were trying to protect British fishing trawlers that were illegally fishing inside Iceland's 200 mile territorial limits. Those brave guys in those little boats called the Royal Navy's bluff and the trawlers went were driven out. I know a few of the oldtimers and love listening to their stories at the pub.
One thing that surprised me is how hard it is to renounce my US citizenship! A whole lot of bureaucratic bullshit and a not insignificant amount of money.
But we will be inviting friends and family to my passport burning party at the pub. The wife never applied for US citizenship, so she's good to go.
