Is an expired/rejected inspection sticker a PRIMARY offense?
In other words, can one be pulled over ONLY AND PRIMARILY for their sticker being expired or rejected? Or does one need to be observed breaking another traffic law FIRST?
I have gotten conflicting answers from police and want to be sure of the EXACT LAW.

A rejected sticker to see if its expired, why its rejected ,and where your going and live. If your driving around with defects they can ticket you for them.
The rejection sticker is supposed to be for getting the car fixed, but you can be ticketed anytime for any defective equipment even if your going to a garage to get something fixed right after leaving the inspection station if its something that the car should not be driven for like bad leaking brakes, wobbly steering parts and other things.
And you can be ticketed the same even if the inspection sticker is good as state law requires all vehicles to be in inspectable condition when operated on public roads.

This is a common sense issue.
Expired tags, expired inspection, lack of tags or inspection, driving on rejected inspection sticker, burned out headlight, defective other light(s), not wearing seatbelt, children not in child safety seat(s)as required, and the list goes on.
If you think it is a violation, and could be fineable offence, it probably is.
Don't violate those window tint laws!

the reason why is because a pull-over is dangerous and takes the cops time
a cop has to pull you over to see if your car is safe SINCE YOUR MOMMY ASS DIDNT DO AS MUCH AS GET A STICKER ON THE GLASS
that is why if you aren't heading to or from court (concerning the sticker) or the inspection station, you get a ticket
it's not "just because your late", and they do give leeway they don't pull over freshly expired stickers

If pulled over you'll get a ticket. Fairfax Co needs the money and the cops bring it in. Just ask for the pen a sign your ticket without arguing. This is the greatest county in the USA and running a dog and pony show is expensive.

I've gotten tickets for dead inspection, no county sticker, ect. Then I grew up and realized that as a driver, I agreed to follow the law's designed to protect us all. Now that I'm older and pay more taxes, I am in favor of the fines so they will not have to use my other tax money to pay cops to enforce you to behave in accordance to what you agreed to when you got your license. It may even prevent the county from seejing new fund's from, I dont know, like a new 4% increade in the restaurant meals tax. Follow the rules, or pay the fine. Your choice.

I'm sure if you looked at the history of how this became law you would see that the main proponents were the auto repair shops doing the inspections. They fail you and then you legally cannot drive somewhere else to get it fixed or have a second inspection. This just makes it easier for scammers to fail you and then intimidate you into paying them big dollars.

Will you morons get it through your thick skulls, Fairfax County KNOWS THE MEAL TAX WILL NOT PASS! It is a backdoor plan to raise real estate taxes. That's where the money is, not a few pennies added to the price of your Big Mac!
