She is with the Democratic Party OP said. She's not the registrar or working in the registrar's office. What is your problem? Is there more than one democrat running?

She's a Democratic appointee. There's nothing barring her from attending Democratic events. I've got a photo of me with Ken Cuccinelli from when he was running for Governor during my term.
