I definitely don't hate children, I hate parents who have children they can't afford. I give to charities for this sort thing, now I do so twice apparently. Shouldn't these things go up for a vote?

This is why we need that meals tax so bad. That and paying out settlements on officer involved shootings with FCPD.

The program was begun as a pilot in 1968. It's been an independent program since 1975. And ignorant douchebags have whined about it the whole time.

I had no idea a poptart and chocolate milk counted as a 'healthy' meal.

I'm into children receiving balanced meals. They're not too expensive.

Anyway, these children receiving free meals are usually the children of irresponsible Americans.

Irresponsible Americans leave their children in a parked car on a hot day, and I would break the windows to rescue that child.

Anybody who has a child, and can't feed them is irresponsible.

At the same time, taking the child from that irresponsible person is even more costly. So, we feed the child, perhaps three times a day.

It's pretty simple. And, a well-nourished child will grow up to help improve America, unlike their irresponsible parents.

.....until the well nourished kid realizes he can get government cheese for free as an adult.

If a normal responsible citizen was found to have children that were "starving" or "going hungry" they could expect a visit from social services.

Will the folks running these programs refer the starving children to social services for investigation? Isn't that child abuse? If I let my kids go hungry I can assure you I would be reported to social services.

This isn't about being a "responsible parent". You need to look deeper into the situation, You need to understand that not everyone was born with the same breaks that you may have had in life. Lets not be selfish and say " oh God, my Tax money, blah blah blah" These are children that are hungry, and you sit here and bitch about taxes.. Please read the initial comment by the OP and then shut your pie hole. I answered him, not you.. Bottom line is, the kids need food and that is why it is provided to them. You need to think about what the issue at hand is and not " they shouldnt have kids they cant afford". The issue at hand is that the kids are HERE. Also, the majority of these families DO in fact pay taxes. no, you are not the only tax payer in FFX.. With your regressive thinking, we would have parks closed to all poor kids, does that make sense to you?

You are assuming that this program is only for foreign families, its not. It is open to kids under 18 years of age.

Bottome line is, if kids are being starved by their parents and/or guardians that is more than ample cause for a social services investigation. Perhaps the kids would be better off being removed from their situation and placed with foster families that can ensure they will be provided proper care. I just don't understand this cavalier attitude. I have lib friends who think it is ok to take kids out of good homes if there is a gun there or if the parents let their kids play outside without constant supervision. But yet it's OK to neglect kids to the point where they are starving?

LOLOLOLOL.. Please research what MONSANTO has done to the american farmer. Also, look up who has supported Monsanto both Dems and reps have fucked the american farmer.

My kids used to get food offered to them all the time when they were in FCPS. Pizza, snacks - sometimes several times in a week.

My kids have always been healthy weights with good growth. They ate breakfast at home and brought their lunch. No reason for the school to feed them.

I think everybody should have to pass a test to have sex and make babies.

1. Do you know how much it costs to raise children?
3. Do have the money?
3. How do you propose to finance this endeavor?

Instead they just procreate willy nilly and expect everybody else to pick up the tab.

I could feed my family on food stamps. No problem. These people get breakfast and lunch for their kids, even during the summer, and they still complain that they don't get enough SNAP.
