Convicted Sex Offender Seen Taking Photos of Child in Library: Police
A convicted sex offender who is known to be frequenting area libraries was seen taking photos of a child at Herndon Fortnightly Library.

Herndon, VA - A convicted sex offender was seen taking photographs of a child in Herndon Fortnightly Library, according to the Town of Herndon Police Department. The library is located at 768 Center Street, Herndon.
Police say that on Saturday, June 11, Steven Michael Edwards was involved in an altercation in the Town of Herndon after he was observed taking photographs of a juvenile while at the library.
Edwards fled the area prior to police arrival. He not commit a crime by taking the photographs, according to police, but their investigation revealed he is a registered sex offender in Florida who has failed to re-register since his arrival in Virginia.
It is believed he is currently homeless, and he is known to be frequenting libraries in the area.
Edwards is a white male, age 58. He is 5'5", 125 pounds, and has brown hair and green eyes.
