Fair Oaks Police District – Police were called to the 3900 block of Centerview Drive, in Chantilly, for a report of what appeared to be a body in a pond around 4:51 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8. Officers arrived and confirmed it was a deceased man. Major Crimes detectives and officers from the Special Operations Division’s Search and Recovery (Dive) Team responded to the scene. An investigation determined the decedent was Lancelot A. Barboza, 44, of South Riding, and had been reported missing from Loudoun County.

Detectives do not believe the death is suspicious or criminal in nature. An autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine exact cause and manner of death. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Solvers by phone at 1-866-411-TIPS/8477, e-mail at www.fairfaxcrimesolvers.org or text “TIP187” plus your message to CRIMES/274637 or call Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131.

Lancelot Barboza?!?!? I mean...the press isn't even trying anymore! Do I have to say it?

A local contractor has been hiring illegals and then killing them at the end of the job to avoid paying them. FCPD thinks Mr. Barboza is a victim of this suspect.

Nice try, funny guy. It looks like Lancelot Barboza was from India and had worked for Booz Allen Hamilton as a consultant for the past decade or so.

The Barboza name probably originated with Portuguese colonization of India, which began in the 16th century (200 years before the British) and continued until the 1960s. Since Portugal and Spain share the Iberean peninsula, there's a lot of similarity between Portuguese and Spanish names.

So, not Hispanic. Luso-Indian.

This is what almost happened in "Treasure of Sierra Madre", except Dobbs and Curtain beat the crap out of the guy. Yep.

I cannot confirm Mr. Barboza's heritage but, he lived down the street from me for the last 4 years. He was a very nice man who always said hello and enjoyed coaching youth soccer. This is a loss for our community, no doubt.

On the weekends, he would frequently be seen driving a white, panel van with ladders stored on the roof. One of my other neighbors said he took a part-time job with a painting company.

that's interesting but mohamud ali was not a muslim ...

dont forget northern Italy is bordered with south east Spain - so there is some spillover of famil names between those two

after that consider: name changes - many people have done it to cover up the past or to carry multiple identities

How do people get so stupid?????

You better check your history again and figure out where the name "Muhammad Ali" came from.

On February 25, 1964, just nine days after the Beatles’ second appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, Cassius Clay, Olympic gold medalist at the 1960 Games in Rome, won the world heavyweight boxing title by upsetting Sonny Liston in Miami Beach. Clay was twenty-two years old. Two days later, Clay announced that he was a member of the Nation of Islam, a group with which he had been worshipping since 1962. The following week, Nation of Islam leader Elijah Muhammad announced that Clay would be renamed Muhammad Ali.

Lance was from India. He was an engineer and a technology professional.
Please have some respect for his family by avoiding speculation about his death based on nothing other than his name.

The internet was built on speculation.

Welcome to Fairfax Underground, simp. Their job is to die and our job is to flame their corpses to a crisp. Don't like it? Don't die a suspicious death in Fairfax County...

Lance was an intelligent, caring human being. May he rest in peace and may his family somehow find peace in this sorrowful time.

Please be kind and respectful for the sake of his loved ones.

Not quite. Lancelot Link was a chimp, a secret chimp working for A.P.E. (Agency to Prevent Evil) who regularly did battle with his nemesis Baron von Butcher and C.H.U.M.P. (Criminal Headquarters for the Underworld's Master Plan).
