they are owned by criminals, rich political families, and mattresses are good for smuggling drugs and even persons

plus - a counterfeitner (or funneler) can use a pizza shop or mattress store to claim profits (or sales) that never happened

it's called "a front", a facade

It's because of the numerous houses in the area where there are 25-30 illegal aliens constantly moving in (and out as the contractors keep murdering them to get out of paying them each month). They each need a mattress on an available space on the floor, so the result is that 25-30 mattresses must be bought depending on the number of tenants renting space there.
