The fees being paid to consultants are just outrageous. It seems anyone can be an educational consultant and when there are no results, blame the kids, teachers, administrators, phase of the moon or Obama.

If the description of Jensen's credentials is accurate, he is overpaid and it is not at all clear what is so unique about him to justify a sole source contract.

So I would agree with the OP that this is a highly questionable expense.

A Google search says a high end lawyer gets $500 an hour, how is it that Jensen gets double that?

I would also agree with the OP that given the fact that the school board gave itself a raise and the administrators are well paid, they should not be dining on tax dollars. Some of the travel I've seen described just seems excessive.

So you think that because Jensen was on-site for 3 days, that's all the work he did? lol. Have you ever worked as a Consultant?

For the love of God, OP, we don't need a new thread on this every day. You sound more like a nut than a responsible conservator of county resources. And, as has been pointed out, a consultant's day does not necessarily stop when he walks out the door.

Eric Jensen is much more of a motivational speaker as a consultant. He gives a pretty standard presentation. It is based on his books, so you can get one on neuroscience, poverty, whatever. It is not like a business consultant where they look at your organization and recommend changes.

When Jensen leaves after his three days or whatever, he is more or less done.

So anyway the OP needs to be more accurate about what Jensen really is.
