George Mason University Renames Law School After Justice Antonin Scalia

Apparently, George Mason University will rename its law school after the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

They got 30 million bucks for changing the name. For thirty million bucks I'd change MY name to Antonin Scalia.

It isn't just the SJW types. A good portion of the alumni who have been helping to fund GMUSL since it was founded are also going to be pissed. Some already were unhappy about the appointment of Butler as Dean.

This was a great deal for the Koch brothers. Their foundation only had to ante up $10M. (The other donor was anonymous.) Through his rulings, AS gave them many times more than that.

These are lawyers who have been in practice for years. They wouldn't even pick up a pen to write a $25 donation. Money talks though and the Kochs and their allies were offering up a huge pile of money to make it happen. It will be interesting to see whether the Kochs keep that money coming long enough for alumni discontent to blow over.
