So the only way to use their swimming pools during summer is to pay this expensive annual membership fee. I would rather take my kids to Water Mine Park during summer and pay only $260+ season pass for the family.

i don't know what the amount above is, but is likely the entire hoa fee not just pools. If you live adjacent to franklin farm you can get an outside pool membership for approx $500 but there is a long waiting list to get in.

Damn! You can get Reston family pool and tennis court pass for $530 annual. That includes all the 20 something Reston tennis courts and you can go to any of the 15 Reston pools. Includes the pools on the lakes and indoor pools.
$2300 annual for just one pool? What a ripoff.

The Franklin Farm HOA fees are paid quarterly and range from $214-$276
This fee covers trash/recycling pickup, maintenance of the open spaces, paths, tennis & basketball courts etc. also a sand volleyball court.
The pool fee is an additional one-time seasonal payment approx $150 which gives you access to both of the pools. During pool months they have family and children nights, adult social parties and other activities. All included.
IMO not too much to pay for the amenities it provides residents.
