Worker Comparison: FCPS vs METRO

Both systems complain daily about a lack of more taxpayer spending on their employees.

Both systems have more than their fair share of workers driving BMWs and Mercedes to work and parking them.

Both systems are declining when measured using objective data.

Both systems are (surprise!) run by Democrats, who pay a Public Affairs staff to make news about how great they are.

Could it be that the hiring/retention practices of both organizations are the true root cause of their problems?

Metro is gold plated. Look at the employee parking lots. Nogs pull up in Mercedes and Range Rovers. Can't do the job of a 10 year old, but they drive really nice cars.

Metro transports the illegals where they want to go, and the illegals pay.

FCPS provides the minimum required education to the illegals for free, paid by Fairfax County property owners.

I'd say Metro wins on that score.

The difference is FCPS employees can go to another district and get paid more. First year teachers also choose not to work for FCPS because other counties pay more. Metro employees can't go anywhere else.

Have you actually seen FCPS and Metro employees? Metro employees can't go anywhere else because they are unemployable.
