For goodness sake, don't be a complete idiot. Mosquito repellent is for external use only. It should say that on the can. If it doesn't, then assume it. Whatever you put on him will be inside you, so it will be in contact with mucus membranes that absorb whatever they contact. You would risk not just irritation, but perhaps a mild poisoning.

The Zika virus is borne by insect, as you must know. Having sex doesn't increase or decrease your exposure to infected mosquitoes. Just being in a region where those insects are means you are at increased risk, sex or no sex.

I have a better suggestion: Stay home.
