Maryland argued they are not "Firearms" Or Commonly Used Firearms. The Court found that AR 15's out sell Ford F 150 Pickup trucks. And that "most" pistols sold today have 10-17 rounds.

Big victory. A fractious 6-part panel decision in which all three judges dissented with regard to something, with the lower court ruling being affirmed in part, vacated in part, and remanded in part.

Excellent! It seems like the Libs in Maryland didn't do a very good job of putting their case together. Those chose to apply some assumptions to the case as opposed to actual facts. Had they done some true research, they would have realized how active sales of AR-15s are and that most magazines do hold more than 10 rounds. The 33-round magazine for Glock pistols is impressive.

With Scalia gone, Heller teeters on the brink. We'll be pardoning drug criminals to make room for gun criminals.

YOU should look it up. Both Heller and McDonald allow for state-imposed limits and sanctions on guns. The individual right imagined for the first time and out of thin air in 2008 is a very narrow right indeed. Meanwhile, the state's power to promote public health and safety is very broad. Future courts will be more than happy to whittle away at Heller until it is functionally gone.

Heller isn't on the brink. The hard core "ban all guns crowd" might wish otherwise, but the Supreme Court isn't going to be saying people don't have an individual right to own or possess firearms any time soon. Instead the Court will be visiting the issue of what constitutes reasonable restrictions on gun ownership and possession that the Supreme Court indicate the states and Feds could do in Heller.

If I read correctly, this decision is based on the fact that lots of guns hold multiple rounds and high capacity weapons sell well. Therefore there should be no restrictions on them. What kind of logic is that? Why the hell does anyone need automatic weapon for anything?

Why the hell does anyone need automatic weapon for anything?

I don't want or own an automatic weapon. I legally purchase semi-auto weapons.

While technically I could get a full-auto, I do not want to pay the insane $ and additional red tape fees and related nonsense. I am permitted by the state of VA, after a lengthy background check and approval process, to conceal carry my semi-automatic pistols if I wish to do so.

It seems you might not have comprehended the reading. I don't own automatic weapons, nor wish to do so. A semi-automatic weapon is not an automatic weapon. There is a difference.

Better change the old underwear, Bill. The "ban all guns crowd" is a null set. The issue comes from the other end of the spectrum where rabid gun-stooges insist upon the addled notion that there is no permissible restriction on guns at all. They think Heller/McDonald gave them some sort of blank check or other. They are of course full of crap.

Whatever. Let me rephrase that...Why the hell does anyone need a semi-automatic weapon for anything? Let's get real - you don't need it for self-protection, you don't need it for hunting, you just want a killing toy that makes you look 'bad'.

Wrong. I'm not trying to make myself look 'bad'. And, please don't imply that I don't need the weapons for protection. I'd rather die with a gun in my hand than a telephone on hold with 9-1-1. Finally, it's my personal right to own weapons.

Look at what's happened in the areas where there have been high incidents of crime. Gun sales are through the roof in those areas. Maybe, today, in the section of Fairfax county where I live that isn't a need for immediate protection. However, when that need does arrive, I'll be prepared and not out there trying to complete some form of panic purchase.

Instead of wasting your time arguing with me, start looking for a better fight. 12,000 people die in a year due to weapons. Meanwhile, 47,000 die due to drug overdoses. Where do you feel your energies might be best placed? Give it some thought.

No one has given a single reason why they need a semi-automatic weapon. You don't need that kind of firepower for personal protection. You're not taking on conquering hordes. And enough with the slippery slope crap. I don't have a problem with personal protection in your own home, but you paranoid Rambos are a threat to the population at large.

True. They're all a bunch of idiots. Clinging to their ultimate dream of Utopia which isn't possible.

I won't be protecting any Libs with my weapons. That will never happen. It will be easy to spot them too. They'll be the ones that have crapped their pants when the SHTF.

Because a revolver only holds six rounds. With a loaded gun, and an extra mag in my pocket, I have 34. You may ask what do I fear? The answer is "not a damn thing".

When something goes bump in the night downstairs, I go looking for it. I guess you call the police from under your bed.

How generous of you. What SHTF are you expecting? Do you think the entire population of Baltimore is going to descend en masse on Fairfax one day and start killing people? Or are you convinced that 'The Government' is going to attempt to confiscate your guns, at which point, of course, you'd have no recourse but to shoot anything that moves? Seriously, what are you so afraid of?

When are you going to start taking automatics from police? As they need them to defend themselves.

That's why citizens need them too , To Defend themselves.. Defend.. Look it up Stupid

Criminal Killers use all kinds of weapons.. WTF is wrong with this guys mind..

Take a trip to San Quentin's Condemned Row and have a "Love In" with them..

Semi-auto basically means non- single shot or non revolver -- I think too many people confuse these with full auto, which is also legal to own.,

I'm not afraid of anything. In the event something does happen, I'll be prepared. Until then, my weapons will remain safely stored with trigger locks and separate from the ammo.

You, on the other hand, should look at yourself. Maybe, you're the one who is afraid. You remain part of the gun-grabbing crowd when there are other killers out there that take many more lives each year than weapons do, yet you fail to give any attention to those killers. Why not apply some emphasis to where it's really needed? Drug overdoses, cancer, etc. are are much bigger killers than people with weapons. To me, you're wasting your time trying to grab guns.

If that's what make you happy.

A huge difference with Culture between the USA and Japan. Law abiding Americans like myself are like the Japanese, respectful of others. Americans were amazed they could leave cameras on a car seat unlocked in Japan. As a law abiding American I leave others and their property alone..Many others do the same.

On the Other hand....

There's the other side to our culture...the Criminals..and there culture.

Try to get the Thugs on that side to Go along with your peace love and flowers. You'll get stabbed or your throat simply slashed for your troubles..

They have got drug dealing and Crime business to conduct.. Like Robbing you, cutting you and leaving you for dead..

Trying to regulate distribution of automatic weapons is not 'gun grabbing'. It's common sense. And yes, I'm afraid - of the gun nut sitting next to me with his weapon. Do you really think it is reassuring to anyone to see a guy with a gun in Target?

BTW, I don't need your patronizing attempt at deflection with other sources of killing. You have no idea what I do or do not 'fail to give attention to', nor is it germaine to this discussion.

Automated, semi-automated, BFD - nobody except the NRA and the gun nuts care. Their sole purpose is to fire a shitload of rounds quickly with the intent to cause as much death as possible. And clearly they're not regulated well enough since there are millions of them, they serve no discernible purpose (unless used by the military and law enforcement), and they've been used in virtually every mass shooting. Typical guntard deflection - focus on irrelevant shit and NRA talking points.

Why are you giving "law enforcement a pass" to defend themselves ??And saying screw citizens.. Police are civilians like any one else when it comes to the right to defend their lives when faced with a deadly threat. Go to hell with your Nazi Party Liberal Gun Grabbing "Police Only" mentality.

No NRA Talking points here..My opinions only you asshole, Speak for your own sorry self.

As far as shooting shitloads of rounds, what the hell do you expect law abiding people Police or Citizen civilians to do when confronted with a killer using deadly force against them or their family..If that's what it takes to put a Killer down so be it.

Are you really that weak guy with the high winey voice "Drone" or what ever the hell his name is who is making bullshit noises on the Radio with his lousy political ads that "He isn't running from the "Gun Lobby" despite the fact 150 million Americans are the "Gun Lobby" as they own guns.. I'll never shop there again either.
Ironic how it's fine for Obama, Bloomberg, Mcaullife, the Clintons, and possibly Trone, to be protected by possies of armed men with guns, but liberals have an issue if I carry a 9mm pistol hidden in my waistband. You don't see it and I don't advertise. You'll never know I'm carrying it unless you try to physically hurt me or a family member.

You should also learn to shoot you don't have to carry so many rounds.

Do two semi-automatic pistols equal one automatic pistol?

As they say, "Do the math..."

I can't debate with people who have the IQ of a kumquat. Law enforcement personnel have superior weapons because they deal with extraordinary situations that may require them. You do not, especially around here.

As a PP here said, a revolver 'only' holds six rounds. If you can't hit your intended target with six rounds, then you have no fucking business owning a gun. The only reason you gun nuts want high powered weapons is 1. because you are cowards, or 2. because you are ineffectual weaklings who need to wave around your pathetic 'manhood', or 3. - if you're honest - just cause they're badass and you like them.

Dear Obvious Product of FCPS:

The Japanese attacked the U.S. mainland during WWII when a submarine shelled an oil refinery in Long Beach, California (shortly after the Pearl Harbor raid) and by incendiary "balloon bombs" which started several forest fires, and injured/killed several Americans who found the things.
